Congratulations to Select Skills Instructor Joe Whitney for inking a Pro Deal with the NJ Devils organization. 

Whitney, 23, spent the past four seasons at Boston College (HE), where he totaled 40 goals and 102 assists for 142 points and 207 penalty minutes in 161 games played. In 2010-11, the 5-6, 165-lb. forward recorded five goals and 26 assists for 31 points and 60 penalty minutes in 39 appearances. Whitney was a member of the Eagles’ 2008 and 2010 NCAA Championship teams, as well as the 2008, 2010 and 2011 Hockey East Championship teams. Born February 6, 1988 in Reading, MA, he made his pro debut by appearing in one game with Portland (AHL) at the conclusion of his collegiate career. Not drafted, he attended last month’s NJ Devils rookie camp at Prudential Center.
